Perth Glory has scored an important win in the wooden spoon battle at nib Stadium after overcoming a strong Central Coast Mariners 2-1.
Nebojsa Marinkovic scored two goals in as many minutes to snatch victory for the Glory.
The Mariners have also been struggling this season and looked like they would end their three-game losing streak when Irish striker Roy O’Donovan was able to open the scoring in the 28th minute.
Marinkovic equalised through a free kick in the 62nd minute, before scoring the winner through a goal on the run.
A frantic two minutes for Perth turned the contest on its head and could prove to be the confidence boost the side needs to continue some form coming into a string of home games.
The result had a clear impact on the players with many reacting as if they had just won a final. This win was obviously a very important one for the club.
Despite the positive performance, many fans are still quite angry and calling for Kenny Lowe’s head as the club aims to rebuild following a disaster 2014/2015 season.
