Perth once again miss out on being host

  • Perth once again miss out on being host

It appears that Perth Glory have once again missed out on the opportunity to host the FFA Cup with the venue to be decided after the Melbourne Victory and Hume City FC clash.

The FFA have stated that the cup final will be held on Saturday 7th November, 2015 at either AAMI Park in Melbourne or Perth’s nib Stadium. The choice on venues will be made as to whether the Victory can defeat Hume City FC. Should Melbourne be successful, then the final will be held at AAMI Park.

Perth CEO Peter Filopoulos stated that “We are extremely disappointed with this decision. We would have liked to have been able to host the final in front of our loyal members and fans notwithstanding tomorrow night's result. However it now seems highly likely we will be forced to travel again after qualifying for the second consecutive year”.

"However we do accept FFA’s decision and look forward to facing either Hume City in Perth or Melbourne Victory in Melbourne on Saturday November 7” Filopoulos continued.

“We are delighted to have qualified for the Westfield FFA Cup Final two years in a row and our coaches and players can’t wait to play-off for the right to win our first piece of silverware in the Hyundai A-League era and add to the two Championships from our illustrious National Soccer League era” Filopoulos said.
