He's scored against Real Madrid, and now Perth Glory's newest recruit Diego Castro Gimenez has set his sights on lighting up the A-League.
Castro has been lured to Perth as the club's new international marquee, with the Spaniard's arrival a major boost following the departures of attacking stars Andy Keogh, Jamie Maclaren, and Youssouf Hersi.
The 33-year-old has spent the majority of his career in Spain's La Liga, most recently at Getafe CF.
Castro, who will officially sign with Perth once he passes his medical, also played at Sporting Gijon, Malaga, and Pontevedra.
During his four-year stint at Getafe, the winger scored 19 goals in 129 appearances, including a goal against soccer giants Real Madrid.
Castro is Perth's eighth off-season recruit following the addition of Antony Golec, Ante Covic, Hagi Gligor, Gyorgy Sandor, Jerrad Tyson, Marc Warren and Alex Grant.
Keogh, Maclaren, and Hersi all departed Glory in the wake of the club's ugly salary cap saga last season.
Scott Jamieson and Danny Vukovic, were other stars to depart during the off season.
Castro attracted interest from other A-League clubs, but decided Perth was his best fit.
"I arrive in Australia still hungry for success and with hopes of challenging for trophies with my new team mates," Castro said.
Coach Kenny Lowe said Castro's arrival would boost the club's firepower.
"Diego has played in the highest leagues of Spanish football for a long period of time, playing nearly 300 games and scoring around 60 goals," Lowe said.
"So there is no doubting his quality.
"He gives us another option in attack."
Perth Glory kick off their FFA Cup campaign next Tuesday when they take on the Newcastle Jets at Magic Park.
