After the salary cap breaches became apparent, Perth Glory officials stated that all players would be available to leave if that is the step they would like to take. This statement was not entirely truthful as club officials told Jamie Maclaren that he would not be allowed to leave the club. Maclaren has been greatly outspoken on his desire to leave the club since the salary cap saga first broke out.
Jamie Maclaren has officially had his contract mutually terminated, effective immediately. Maclaren was one of the shining lights in a disappointing season for the Glory and this loss will hurt them deeply.
Maclaren was clearly not happy in Perth as he stated “I don’t have any immediate plans but I would like to wish the club the best of luck in the forthcoming campaign”.
Maclaren made 38 appearances in his time at the Glory scoring 11 goals. This is just yet another blow for a club that desperately needs to bounce back in the coming season.
