Perth Glory have put a disappointing week behind them to claim a 3-1 victory over Melbourne City.
A Jamie Maclaren hat-trick helped sink a 10 man City team.
Maclaren opened the scoring after a chip over the top from Danny De Silva in the 42nd minute.
The visitors lost Paulo Retre after he received two yellow cards in quick succession just before half time.
The second half was much more exciting than the first.
Aaron Mooy scored an amazing free kick on the 51st minute to level the scores.
The Melbourne celebrations were short-lived however as Maclaren put the Glory ahead on in the 60th minute thanks to another assist to De Silva.
As Melbourne pushed for an equaliser gaps began to open in City’s defence.
With just 4 minutes to go Maclaren scored his 3rd and sealed the result for the Glory.
Danny Vukovic pulled out several top class saves to ensure that Perth did not fall behind early and to hold onto their lead later in the game.
Vukovic really showed why he is one of the best in the league and was arguably one of the best on the day.
It has been a tough week for Perth but this result will give the Glory fans something to cheer about.
